Short Story: The Power of Unity

Hello everyone! Today I want to tell you about a book which I read during this winter holiday. This book’s name is “The Bundle of Sticks.” I am sure that most of you must have read this book. It has a very strong moral that if you and your family stay united then no one will be able to break you — just like a bundle of sticks. However, if you stay separate, by yourself, then anyone will be able to break you, like a single stick.

This book is from the Aesop’s Fables Series. This is how the story goes: There are four brothers, quarrelling all the time. Their father is on his deathbed. He is always worried about them. So, he decided to make them understand the power of unity. He uses sticks to help them understand that a thin stick can be easily broken. However, when many thin sticks are tied together in a bundle, it is impossible to break.

This main idea is that we should always stay united. A broken family can impact its members both emotionally and mentally. So it’s very important that despite small problems that exist between us, we should ignore them. In today’s time there is so much negativity everywhere. We need to understand the power of unity and to stay united.
